Professional movers all have tricks about moving items, but the best trick I have ever seen to avoid upholstered furniture from getting dirty is to wrap it in pallet wrap.  For those of us that don’t keep that handy – Saran Wrap works just as well.  Start by tying the Saran Wrap onto the leg of the  piece of furniture and then begin walking around the furniture holding the Wrap taut.  Make several passes which will result in the furniture staying clean and add an additional layer of protection.
