Arizona Auctions: Selling at a Live, Simulcast or Online Auction (Part 2 of 2)

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

This is the final part in a two part series. To read part one, click here.

A fast and profitable way to cash in on your unwanted assets is by selling them at Arizona auctions.  Auctions sell virtually every type of industrial, commercial and personal asset.  In general, these auctions can be conducted live, simulcast or online.  To get the most from your auction experience, you should select an auction house with a proven track record.

Selling at Simulcast Arizona Auctions

Simulcast auctions combine live and online auctions.  These Arizona auctions can be conducted at the seller’s location or the auction service’s facilities.  Items to be auctioned appear on the Internet the same time as the live auction.

Just as the other Arizona auctions described above, merchandise is photographed and described in writing.  This information is placed online at least one week prior to the live event.  Bidders participating online can preview items and make proxy bids.

On auction day, bidders can attend the live auction or participate online from any location.  Online bidders bid in real time against other online bidders and live auction attendees.  Expanding the buyer base often produces additional revenue for sellers.

Partner with a Proven Auction Service

Regardless of the auction type, you want to use an auction house that fully understands how to create markets for your assets.  The auction company must be adept in marketing and advertising programs to attract the most qualified buyers.  By reaching the right audience, you can be assured of competitive bidding.

A solid auction service will know who the buyers are and how to reach them.  They will use diverse advertising vehicles, such as direct mail, trade journals, newspapers, Internet, e-mail and fax, to get the word out.  And, most importantly, the best auction service will have a solid reputation for fairness and ethical conduct.

During Arizona auctions, a qualified auction service will know how to keep the event moving and well organized.  And, they will use advanced technologies for efficient management.

Finally, it’s important to your bottom line to carefully consider buyer’s premiums for items sold at Arizona auctions.  These premiums are charges tacked on to the final selling price and can be as much as 25 percent.  Buyer’s premiums can hinder sales and put less money in the seller’s pocket.   Therefore, sellers should first consider auction houses that don’t charge these add-on costs.

To get the most from your auction experience, you should select an auction house with a proven track record.  By conducting numerous auctions a year and producing substantial dollar amounts for sellers, a reputable auction service can make a substantial marketing and financial difference for you.

Arizona Auctions: Selling at a Live, Simulcast or Online Auction (Part 1 of 2)

Monday, December 19th, 2011

A fast and profitable way to cash in on your unwanted assets is by selling them at Arizona auctions.  Auctions sell virtually every type of industrial, commercial and personal asset.  They come in many forms, including autos, bankruptcies, business liquidations, charities, estates and antiques, government agencies, household dispersals, landlord liquidations, lien satisfaction and private invitation only.  In general, these auctions can be conducted live, simulcast or online.

Selling at Live Arizona Auctions

In a live auction, items are liquidated at the seller’s location or the auction house’s facility.  The auction service will stage and properly display the auction merchandise.  An experienced auction house will divide and combine assets strategically to encourage sales at the highest price.

In addition, the auction house should conduct a targeted advertising campaign to interested buyers likely to pay the most.  This form of auction produces the fastest cash settlement for sellers.

Selling Items in Online Arizona Auctions

Online Arizona auctions may be used to sell specialized items to select buyers.  Examples include special collections and small antiques.  The auction house will photograph each item, write a description and list the items on an Internet auction site such as eBay.

These types of online-only auctions tend to take more time.  Special research is conducted into each item so the description can be accurate and promotional.  However, it is not uncommon for these online auctions to provide the largest return for sellers.

In part two of this series, we will discuss selling at simulcast Arizona auctions. For more information on Arizona auctions, please contact Auction Systems.

Tempe Auction Tips: Get Incredible Discounts on Brand New Items, Part 4

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

In part 3 of this blog post we discussed why you should never bid on auction items that you cannot afford and the importance of knowing what forms of payments are accepted by a Tempe auction house. In this blog post we will discuss why you should remove yourself from the bidding process early if you have any reservations about the auction item.

Sold

Remember if you win the Tempe auction bid, you are contractually obligated to pay for the item. You do not have the option of changing your mind once the auctioneer yells, “sold” so if you have any reservations about purchasing an item, remove yourself from the bidding process.

Public Auction Tips: Get Incredible Discounts on Brand New Items, Part 3

Friday, July 8th, 2011

In part 2 of this blog post we discussed the importance of researching items and determining your high bid before the public auction event. In this blog post we will discuss why you should never bid on auction items that you cannot afford.

Do Not Bid on Items You Cannot Afford

If you place the winning bid on an item you will not be able to pull out of the deal so it is extremely important to only bid on items you can afford. Contact the public auction company before you attend an auction to find out what forms of payments are accepted. Most public auction companies will accept personal checks and credit cards but it is important to be sure before making your bid.

Scottsdale Auction Tips: Get Incredible Discounts on Brand New Items, Part 2

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

In part 1 of this blog post we discussed the fact that Scottsdale auctions offer attendees an incredible opportunity to purchase high quality merchandise at a fraction of retail prices and provided a few auction preview tips to help attendees get the biggest bang for their buck. In this blog post we will discuss the importance of researching the items your are considering purchasing and determining your high bid for each of these items.

Doing Research

After you have initially previewed the item you are considering buying, you should go to the local library or return home to conduct some research. Research the items you are considering purchasing on the internet to find information about the product value, repair costs, devaluation and current value of similar products to ensure you do not overpay for an item.

Determining the High Bid

After conducting your research, use the information you gathered to determine the highest price you will pay for each item you are considering purchasing. If you are purchasing an item in order to sell it for a profit, consider all the costs involved in the purchase including taxes and transportation. Once you have determined your high bid make a note and stick to this bid. This may be difficult but this is the best way to avoid overpaying for an item and ensure you are getting a good bargain.

Mesa Auction Tips: Get Incredible Discounts on Brand New Items

Friday, July 1st, 2011

If you are constantly hunting for bargains and enjoy getting discounted prices on high quality merchandise, than you will most likely enjoy attending live Mesa auctions. These auctions offer attendees an incredible opportunity to purchase high quality merchandise at a fraction of retail price, which they can keep for themselves or sell for a profit. This article will provide a few Mesa auction tips that will help attendees get the biggest bang for their buck.

Auction Preview

The auction preview is perhaps the most important process when shopping at a Mesa auction. If you plan to attend the actual auction it is extremely important that you also attend the auction preview. A majority of items sold at Mesa auction are sold “as is” and are very rarely covered by a warranty. This means it is the Mesa auction attendee’s job to inspect each item they are considering purchasing to ensure that product meets their standards. Try the product out to ensure it works, plug it in, flip it upside down and inspect every nook and cranny of the item.

Many auction houses hold auction previews a few days before the auction as well as on auction day. Attendees are advised to inspect items a few days before and then on auction day inspect the items they are considering purchasing to ensure they are in the same condition.

Phoenix Auctions: Bargain DIY Tools, Appliances and More, Part 4

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

In part 3 of this blog post we discussed how purchasing items from Phoenix auctions allows you to dictate the cost of these items. In this blog post we will discuss how quality Phoenix auction houses will allow you to inspect DIY tools, appliances, fixtures, furnishings and more before the auction, which provides you the certainty of knowing what you are purchasing.

Inspect Items

A quality auction house will allow you to inspect items prior to the actual auction. This provides you the certainty of knowing what you are purchasing. An auction preview allows you to get up close to the do-it-yourself auction items and determine if this is the product for you and how much you are willing to bid on a particular fixture or appliance.

Buyer Tip: Know what you are bidding on by closely inspecting each item before the auction. This is why an auction preview is offered. Use your own evaluation as your bidding guide, not the auctioneer’s description or other bidders’ comments. You are buying the merchandise “AS IS” with no guarantees of any kind from the seller or auctioneer. The risk of the item not being what you wanted should be factored into your bidding amount.

Local Auctions: Bargain DIY Tools, Appliances and More, Part 3

Monday, June 6th, 2011

In part 2 of this blog post we discussed how purchasing DIY tools, appliances, fixtures, furniture and furnishings at local auctions is a great way to purchase high quality merchandise at discounted prices. In this blog post we will discuss how purchasing items from local auctions also allows you to dictate the cost of these items.

Dictate Costs

The ability to dictate the price you pay for the items you purchase is another benefit of purchasing do-it-yourself items from a Scottsdale auction. While most do-it-yourself auction items are appraised to determine a minimum bid, bidders are ultimately the ones who decide the final price of the items at the auction.

Buyer Tip: Be careful when you bid on lots. Know how much you are bidding and whether you are bidding against your spouse, parent, sibling or friend. Although you can retract a bid while the bidding is open, you cannot retract it once the auctioneer has said “sold.” Auctioneers expect you to take full responsibility for your bids.
